• Program — Sew Creative Cottage will be our guest speaker for September. They are located in Fairview Park and you can check out their website here: sewcreativecottage.com
  
  
• Business Meeting — Short meeting with updates from our Committee Chairpersons; Upcoming “Once Upon a Christmas” craft show at Grace Church in Middleburg Heights that we’re participating in; and some exciting news about our website. We will also have a demonstration for making a “facing” for the back of your Guild Challenge quilt (which is due at the Christmas meeting in December).
  
  
• Guests, as always, are welcome to our meetings.
  

• Show & Tell — Bring your finished (or mostly so) projects to share with the guild. Guests are also welcome to bring in items to show.
  
  
• Block of the Month — A new block of the month started in August. Details were in the newsletter and the newest block is in this newsletter.
  
  
• Newsletter — Our newsletter goes out to members one week before each meeting. If you have an item of interest for our members, please contact us for consideration. We do not accept classifieds ads.

Common Threads was started over 40 years ago by 15 founding members. We currently average about 55+ members and are actively seeking new members to join us for fellowship, friendship, and to learn and hone quilting skills.

Our purpose is to “promote fellowship while increasing and encouraging the interest and knowledge of our members in all aspects of the art of quilting.” You’re encouraged to participate in our “Block of the Month” and the yearly “Guild Quilt Challenge” in a fun and engaging environment.

Highlights of membership include a Triennial Quilt Show, an opportunity to learn from seasoned guild members and speakers, and you’ve definitely found a place where you can feel free to ask questions, get answers, and improve your quilting skills.
