We’re excited to have you stop by to learn about our guild. Our purpose is to share the love of and exchange knowledge of quilting. Whether you are new to quilting, or have been quilting for years… and you love Modern or Traditional or Art Quilting… we’d love to have you come and join us!

June 2023 Meeting

Meeting Details:

  • Program — Join us for our June Dinner Picnic / Dinner meeting.

    It’s time to celebrate summer with Common Threads. For this meeting, we’ll be serving hotdogs and members / guests are requested to bring a side dish or dessert to share. Coffee / tea will be served. Contact Jane Morris our new Hospitality Chair to let her know what you’ll be bringing. Also, we’ve asked Lottie Conrad / Lynea Derwis to talk to us about Community Service and the great work we’ve started this year.

    As always, guests are welcome to our meetings.


  • Show & Tell — Bring your finished (or mostly so) projects to share with the guild. Guests are also welcome to bring in items to show.
  • Block of the Month — Bring your Block of the Month to share.
  • Newsletter — Our newsletter goes out to members one week before each meeting. If you have an item of interest for our members, please contact us for consideration. We do not accept classifieds ads.

2022 Quilt Show

“Creative Journeys”

Our 12th Triennial Quilt Show “Creative Journeys” was held on 21 – 22 October at Elmwood Recreation Center in Independence, Ohio. Attendance was great. Our vendors were wonderful. And, our NQA-Certified Judge, Edith Dyke, was amazing.

About Us…

Common Threads was started over 35 years ago by 15 founding members. We currently have over 40 members and are actively seeking new members to join us for fellowship, friendship, and to learn and hone quilting skills.

Our purpose is to “promote fellowship while increasing and encouraging the interest and knowledge of our members in all aspects of the art of quilting.” You’re encouraged to participate in our “Block of the Month” and the yearly “Guild Quilt Challenge” in a fun and engaging environment.

Highlights of membership include a Triennial Quilt Show, an opportunity to learn from seasoned guild members and speakers, and you’ve definitely found a place where you can feel free to ask questions, get answers, and improve your quilting skills.
