March Meeting

Our next meeting — 20 March 2023 at 6:30 pm.

Meeting Details:

  • Program “What This Judge is Looking For” — Join us as we welcome Linda Miller owner of That’s Sew Special! and notable quilt show judge. Linda started making quilts when her first child was born in 1986 and has been using quilting as a type of therapy ever since. Her shop, That’s Sew Special, is a sewing adventure that began with crafts and wall hangings and grew to encompass longarm quoting in 2001, computerized longarm quilting in 2008 with an IntelliQuilter system, and she then opened the first computerized longarm rental studio in Ohio in 2012.

Linda’s passion for quilting led her to board positions in the National Quilting Association as Vice-President, President, and Quilt Show Chairman (2014) as well as a repeating candidate in the Judging Certification Program. She is the author of a reference guide for the IntelliQuilter system (Got IQ 2017, a reference guide and workbook) which is still being sold online through her website to users around the world. Linda is also the director of “Quilt Camp at Cedar Lakes” — a yearly educational retreat for up to 250 quilters who enjoy a week away in West Virginia each October. Please join us as we welcome this accomplished speaker to our guild — we will all learn a lot! As always, guests are welcome to our meetings.

  • Show & Tell — Bring your finished (or mostly so) projects to share with the guild. Guests are also welcome to bring in items to show.
  • Block of the Month — Bring your Block of the Month to share.
  • Newsletter — Our newsletter goes out to members one week before each meeting. If you have an item of interest for our members, please contact us for consideration. We do not accept classifieds ads at this time.
