June Celebratory Dinner

Our next meeting — 20 June 2022 at 6:30pm.

Meeting Details:

  • For the June Dinner — please order your food from Judie Bigge. You can also bring your own dinner if you’ve missed the order deadline. Join us for a great time of fellowship and good food! Attendees are encouraged to bring a desert to pass. Contact Deb Shiever for details.
  • Program — Award-winning quilter and teacher Carole Wooten will share her experience as a quilt show judge and working with judges. What do judges look for when you submit a quilt to be judged? Carole will bring her insights about what categories to enter your quilt; how to prepare your binding; and everything that judges are looking for. Examples will be shown.
  • Show & Tell — Bring your finished (or mostly so) projects to share with the guild. Guests are also welcome to bring in items to show.
  • Block of the Month — Bring your Block of the Month to share and for the chance to win “all” of the blocks.
  • 2022 Quilt Show — This month, we’re continuing to sign up for various jobs at the show.

About Us…

Common Threads was started over 30 years ago by 15 founding members. We currently have over 40 members and are actively seeking new members to join us for fellowship, friendship, and to learn and hone quilting skills.

Our purpose is to “promote fellowship while increasing and encouraging the interest and knowledge of our members in all aspects of the art of quilting.” You’re encouraged to participate in our “Block of the Month” and the yearly “Guild Quilt Challenge” in a fun and engaging environment.

Highlights of membership include a Triennial Quilt Show (this year on October 21 – 22, 2022), an opportunity to learn from seasoned guild members and speakers, and you’ve definitely found a place where you can feel free to ask questions, get answers, and improve your quilting skills.

As a Common Threads guild member, we Learn • we Teach • we Give Back.

Thanks for stopping by! We look forward to seeing you at a meeting soon.
